Speedplay

Speedplay is an American clipless pedal brand founded in San Diego, California, in 1991 by Richard Bryne and Sharon Worman; its first pedal, the X, had been patented in 1989. Its road pedals are distinguished by a dual-sided “lollipop” design that places most of the retention mechanism in the cleat, by adjustable rotational float and by a cleat fixed with a four-bolt pattern, which requires an adapter plate on three-hole (Look-type) soles. Wahoo Fitness acquired the brand in 2019 and relaunched the range, including the Powrlink Zero power-measuring pedals presented in 2021.
