Truvativ

Manufacturer of cranksets, bottom brackets and cockpit components (handlebars, stems, seatposts) founded in the United States and based in San Luis Obispo, California. Truvativ made its name in the 1990s and 2000s with sturdy, affordable mountain bike cranksets (Stylo, Hussefelt, Holzfeller). SRAM bought Truvativ on 5 October 2004 from its founder Micki Kozuschek: the acquisition gave SRAM a complete range of cranksets, bottom brackets, chain guides and cockpit components, allowing it to offer complete drivetrains and to launch its first road groupsets the following year. The Truvativ name long appeared on the cranksets of SRAM's mountain bike groupsets (including the crankset of the first 2x10 XX group) before being gradually absorbed into the SRAM brand.
