Prima 199

Brand: 3ttt

The Prima 199 was 3ttt's ultralight anatomic road drop bar, named for its weight: at about 199-200 g in the smallest size it was the world's lightest aluminium handlebar when produced around the turn of the millennium. It is made of triple-butted Alutan 7000 T6 heat-treated aluminium alloy specially developed by Aviatube for 3T, with a double-grooved anatomic bend that accepts aero and dual-control levers. The centre section uses 3ttt's own 25.8 mm clamp standard, and widths of 42 and 46 cm were measured end-to-end. It caps the lineage of the Turin firm founded in 1961 as 3ttt (Tecnologia del Tubo Torinese), whose light-alloy cockpit parts equipped the pro peloton from the 1970s onward; the company rebranded to 3T in 2007.
