Mid-range MTB hydraulic brake from the Avid Elixir family, launched for the 2012 model year, just below the Elixir 9. 2 pistons (top-loading caliper), DOT 5.1 fluid, post mount fitting, HS1 rotor supplied as standard. Lever with tool-free reach adjustment (redesigned dial), lever blade available in carbon or aluminium depending on finish, but without contact point adjustment (unlike the 9). Measured weight 350 g. Dropped from the catalogue around 2014 in favour of the SRAM Guide range.
