Single Digit Ti

Brand: Avid

The Single Digit Ti sat near the top of Avid's Single Digit V-brake family, above the forged Single Digit 7 and below the CNC-machined Single Digit Ultimate. It was essentially a Single Digit 7 fitted with titanium hardware: cable clamp bolt, internal main bushings and caliper mounting bolts, which Avid claimed was 60% lighter than the stainless steel equivalent, bringing the brake down to 165 grams per wheel. It used Avid's Force Vector Alignment geometry to limit spreading of the brake bosses, an oversized linear spring with screw tension adjustment, sealed cartridge bearings, a lockable Overcoat housing and Rim Wrangler 2 cartridge pads in the universal Shimano-compatible format. Avid offered it on its website in a matte grey or shot-peened copper finish until 2004.
