XX Hydraulic Disc Brake
Brand: Avid
Avid XX hydraulic disc brake, the brake of the SRAM XX group — mountain biking's first dedicated 2x10 groupset. Introduced in June 2010 and produced up to the 2012 model year, it targets competitive cross-country: carbon lever on a forged magnesium body, titanium hardware, two-piece caliper with opposed 21 mm pistons (Elixir platform), TaperBore technology (reservoir integrated into the master cylinder with an air trap that limits bleeding). Tool-operated reach adjustment and a Pad Contact Adjust dial. DOT 5.1 fluid, post mount fitting. Claimed weight: 288 g (complete front brake, 160 mm rotor included). The 2012 refresh switched the caliper from magnesium to forged aluminium.
