The Record headset (model 1039, Strada) is the classic chromed-steel 1-inch threaded headset that equipped high-end Italian road bikes from the 1960s through the 1980s as part of the Record and Nuovo Record groups. It uses a traditional cup-and-cone design with caged loose-ball bearings, a 26.4 mm crown race, 30.2 mm pressed cups and a stack height of about 42 mm, weighing roughly 195 g. It was sold in both English/ISO (1 inch x 24 tpi) and Italian (25.4 mm x 24 tpi) threadings to match the frame steerer threading. It is the period-correct headset for vintage Italian race bikes of the 1970s and 1980s.
