Vento
Brand: Campagnolo
The Vento brought the technology of the pioneering Shamal to a wider audience in the mid 1990s. Presented in the 1995 Campagnolo range as the answer to growing demand for Shamal-type complete wheels on traditional racing bikes, it used the same 41 mm deep N.A.C.A.-profiled aluminium aero rim as the Shamal, laced with 16 bladed HPW aero spokes per wheel, but on Chorus-grade hub internals to reach a friendlier price. It was offered in a 28-inch (700c) clincher version with a cassette-type 8-speed Exa-Drive freewheel body and quick releases, at a catalogue weight of 930 g front and 1190 g rear. It remained in the range through the late 1990s; the Vento name was later reused for unrelated 2000s wheels.
