Lefty (2000s)
Brand: Cannondale
The Lefty is Cannondale's single-sided telescopic mountain bike fork. In its classic 2000s form, the fork slides on three sets of needle bearings housed in a square (four-sided) telescope, and the leg is held by three clamping bolts in upper and lower collars integrated into a separate steerer assembly. The specifications given here are taken from the official supplement to the 2005 owner's manual for the Lefty MAX 140, a coil-sprung version with 140 mm of travel fitted with a TPC or SPV (Stable Platform Valve) damping cartridge. The front wheel uses a Lefty-specific hub and axle rather than a conventional axle.
