Scalpel
Brand: Cannondale
The Scalpel is Cannondale's high-end cross-country full-suspension bike and the showcase for its in-house FlexPivot technology. Instead of a bearing Horst pivot on the chainstays, a flattened carbon zone flexes at a precise point just ahead of the rear axle, mimicking the kinematics of a Horst-link four-bar while doing away with bearings, bolts and weight: the rear triangle comes in under 2 kg, stays laterally stiff and is virtually maintenance-free. The Proportional Response suspension is tuned size by size. The 2024 redesign moves the whole range to 120/120 mm with a longer geometry and a head angle slackened to 66.6°, steering the Scalpel towards down-country without disowning its race-bike DNA. Carbon frame on 29-inch wheels, threaded BSA bottom bracket (Ai offset), Boost 148 standard and SRAM UDH compatibility. Reference geometry: size L.
