The Eggbeater MXR was the budget, all-steel version of Crankbrothers' Eggbeater clipless pedal, listed on the brand's website from 2006. It kept the Eggbeater's open four-wing design but used a carbon steel body and wings with an SCM435 chromoly steel spindle and a steel spring, for a claimed weight of 278 g a pair. It came with the standard cleat and shims included, offered a release angle of 15 or 20 degrees depending on cleat orientation, and had no rider weight limit. It sold for 59 USD / 49 EUR in 2006-2007 and 65 USD / 49 EUR in 2009.
