The BRS-500 was Dia-Compe top-of-the-line aero sidepull road brake caliper during the aero component era of the late 1980s and early 1990s. The short-reach caliper (approximately 42-48 mm) features recessed mounting, a dial-adjusted barrel adjuster integrated into the arm, and eccentric brake-pad adjustment. It was noted for exceptionally strong braking power for a sidepull design and finished in black.
