The Taipan is Hutchinson's cross-country reference, a low knobbed pattern meant for fast, dry ground. It is split into several ranges: Taipan XC from 26x2.1 to 29x2.25, Taipan Gravity in 29x2.3 to 2.4 for trail and enduro, Taipan Koloss in 27.5x2.6 and 2.8 and 29x2.6 for plus and e-bike wheels, and a Taipan E-bike in 2.35 on a doubled 2x66 TPI Hardskin casing. Race references use the Race Ripost XC or Gravity compound with Hardskin, while Sideskin, SpiderTech and 33 TPI tubetype builds cover everyday use. Weights run from 608 to 1250 g.
