The Hydra2 is Industry Nine's 2024 successor to the legendary Hydra hub, re-engineered using data from more than 100,000 original Hydra hubs. It raises engagement from the original's 690 points / 0.52 degrees to 870 points / 0.41 degrees via a six-pawl, 145-tooth drive-ring system with three teeth per pawl. Compared with the original it adds a 65% thicker axle, larger 6903 bearings, a tougher drive ring, and a new full-contact radial lip seal plus labyrinth channel that cut coasting drag by a claimed ~60% while improving durability, including full-power eMTB approval.
