HS22

Brand: Magura

The HS22 is one of Magura's HS hydraulic rim brakes: a closed hydraulic system filled with MAGURA Royal Blood mineral oil, with two slave cylinders that clamp the rim and bolt onto the frame's cantilever bosses via the EVO2, Easy Mount or HSi adapter systems. An HS 22 already appears in Magura's 1997/98 rim brake spare parts documentation, but the model was absent from the catalogue in the early 2000s, when only the HS11 and the HS33 were listed. Magura relaunched it in August 2015 with a Carbotecture master cylinder, a three-finger Carbotecture lever blade, tool-free reach adjustment and TPA pad wear adjustment, for a claimed weight of 440 g. It is still in Magura's current range between the entry-level HS11 and the HS33, listed for city, trekking/touring and e-bike use, and accepts rims from 18 to 28 mm wide and tyres up to 64 mm.
