A direct evolution of the Manitou 1, the 1993 Manitou 2 introduced a preload adjuster at the bottom of the lowers and a dedicated quick release, while keeping Doug Bradbury's elastomer suspension. It consolidated Answer Manitou's place among the benchmark mountain bike forks of the early 1990s.
