Bomber Z1 (1997)
Brand: Marzocchi
Launched in 1997, the Bomber Z1 revolutionised the mountain bike fork with its oversized 30 mm stanchions, 100 mm of travel and open-bath hydraulic damping, at a time when the competition topped out at 60-80 mm with elastomers. Adopted by the Canadian freeride pioneers (the 'Fro-Riders' Schley, Simmons and Tippie), it laid the foundations of modern hard-charging mountain biking.
