The Klamper is Paul Component Engineering's mechanical disc caliper, machined from 6061 aluminium and heat-treated 12L14 steel and released in 2015 after three years of development. The cable drives oversized balls running in hardened steel ramps, with a flat needle roller thrust bearing in place of the usual plastic washer, and both pads adjust independently and tool-free on detented knobs. It weighs 211 g with pads and comes as a Post Mount / I.S. caliper or as a separate Flat Mount model. The actuator arm sets the cable pull: this entry covers the Short Pull version for road levers, while Paul also offers a Long Pull version for flat-bar or V-brake levers and a Campagnolo version.
