The Racer is Paul Component Engineering's centre-pull caliper, drawn from the classic Mafac centre-pulls and remade in machined 6061 aluminium. Its long T-section arms and widely spaced pivots make room for large tyres and full-coverage mudguards, with a stated reach of 57 to 72 mm measured diagonally from the centre bolt to the top of the pad. The Center Mount version bolts to the brake bridge through a single central bolt, recessed or non-recessed, and weighs 157 g; the Braze-On version, which fits dedicated centre-pull bosses, drops to 120 g. Short-pull levers are required.
