The top model in Shimano's family of compact 90 mm arch road V-brakes, alongside the BR-R353 and BR-R463. It targets flat-bar road and hybrid bikes, with anodised aluminium arms and M70R2 shoes. Shimano lists it as compatible with V-brake levers and flat-bar brake levers: the cable pull stays that of a V-brake, not that of a road caliper. It was catalogued in black and in silver.
