The BR-RS305 is Shimano's flat-mount cable-actuated disc brake caliper, sold outside the named road groupsets as separate front (BR-RS305-F) and rear (BR-RS305-R) parts. It has one piston and is rated NEW SUPER SLR, so it takes the short cable pull of Shimano road levers rather than a mountain-bike pull. Standard pads are BP-K05S-RX resin, with finned ICE TECHNOLOGIES BP-L05A-RF pads as an option, and rotors of 140 or 160 mm are recommended.
