Ten-speed chain of the XTR M980 group, in Shimano's catalogue from the 2011 to the 2013 model year. It uses the asymmetric super-narrow HG-X profile with zinc-alloy plated link plates, for a quoted weight of 259 g in 114 links. That makes it the lightest Shimano mountain bike chain of its generation, ahead of the 273 g CN-HG94 Deore XT and the 304 g CN-HG73. The CN-M981 replaced it for the 2014 model year.
