STEPS E7000 (DU-E7000)

The DU-E7000 was launched in 2018 as the mid-range STEPS motor dedicated to electric mountain bikes. Positioned below the top-end E8000, it offers 60 Nm of torque in a compact housing weighing about 2.88 kg. It targets more affordable off-road bikes without giving up the dynamic character of STEPS assistance. Its multi-mode management and E-TUBE integration allow fine tuning of the assistance levels. It did much to democratise Shimano's electric mountain biking when it appeared.
