ESP 9.0 SL GripShift

High-end twist shifter from SRAM's ESP era, sold alongside the ESP 9.0 SL rear derailleur. It relies on SRAM's 1:1 cable pull ratio, introduced with the brand's first ESP MTB rear derailleur in 1995 and meant to cope better with cable contamination than the 2:1 systems of the day, which is why the rear unit only works with SRAM ESP rear derailleurs. Disraeli Gears dates the lightweight 9.0 SL version to 1997, produced in several variants until around 2000.
