Introduced in 2019, the Universal Derailleur Hanger is the industry-unifying standard that replaced hundreds of incompatible proprietary dropout designs with a single universal interface — one part that now fits frames from dozens of brands (Trek, Scott, Canyon, Orbea, Devinci and many more). Designed to rotate rearward on impact and re-rail the chain onto the small cog, it works with any standard drivetrain. Crucially, it became the mounting foundation for Transmission (T-Type) direct-mount derailleurs, which do away with the hanger entirely and bolt straight to the UDH-standard frame.
