Fuel EX Gen 6

Brand: Trek

The Trek Fuel EX Gen 6 (launched in 2023) is Trek's versatile "Swiss army knife" trail bike: it gains muscle over the previous generation, moving to 140 mm of rear travel driven by the ABP kinematics (Active Braking Pivot, a pivot concentric with the rear axle that decouples braking from the suspension, derived from the Split Pivot patent), with 150 mm at the front. This generation introduces a genuine integrated storage compartment in the down tube (in-frame storage with a Bontrager BITS bag), a threaded BSA 73 mm bottom bracket more reliable than press-fit, and the SRAM UDH standard. The geometry is highly adjustable: combining the Mino Link flip-chip (angle / bottom bracket height) with a headset using angled cups (Steep/Neutral/Slack), for up to six configurations, plus size-specific chainstays (435 mm in XS–M to 450 mm in XXL). Available in OCLV Mountain carbon (C frameset) and Alpha Platinum aluminium (e.g. Fuel EX 8), it stands as a capable, descent-oriented 29" trail bike that does not sacrifice pedalling. Reference geometry: size L, Neutral setting.
