TR12 Trigger Shifter
Brand: TRP
The TR12 trigger shifter is the mountain bike thumb shifter developed to pair with the TR12 rear derailleur, launched in 2020 as part of the G-Spec kit. Downhill World Cup racer Aaron Gwin drove much of its development, focusing on the ergonomics and feel of the cable-release lever. Rather than rotating on an arc, the release paddle follows a linear path designed to mimic the natural motion of the thumb, giving a consistent contact point and, the maker claims, more positive shifts under load. The lever can sweep up to five cogs in a single push for fast gear dumps on steep terrain. Built from aluminium and carbon fibre, it weighs around 126g and mounts to a SRAM MatchMaker clamp, sharing bar space with a brake lever. It is built around SRAM Eagle 12-speed cassette spacing but, as a matched system, pulls only its companion TR12 derailleur rather than SRAM or Shimano mechs. Aimed at aggressive trail, enduro and downhill use.
