German family-owned automotive supplier founded in 1908, Brose has been building e-bike motors in its Berlin plant since 2014. A discreet white-label motor maker, it is best known as the motor behind the Specialized Turbo Levo: the Specialized 2.2 unit is a Drive S Mag developed in close collaboration. Its belt drive, inherited from automotive know-how (power-steering motors), is renowned for silence and zero drag above 25 km/h.
