Sturmey-Archer
British manufacturer founded in 1902 in Nottingham, England, by Henry Sturmey and James Archer under the patronage of Frank Bowden of Raleigh. Sturmey-Archer became the world reference for internal-gear hubs, equipping millions of everyday and utility bicycles across the 20th century. After Raleigh sold the company, it was acquired in 2000 by Taiwan-based Sunrace, which continues to produce hubs under the Sturmey-Archer name.
