C1.12
Brand: Pinion
A gearbox housed in the bottom bracket - not a hub - devised by two former automotive engineers. Twelve evenly spaced gears covering a 600 % range, more than a derailleur drivetrain, obtained through two gear stages (a 4 x 3 layout) inside a sealed magnesium casing. The mechanism and its mass are centred low and in the middle of the bike, which sharpens the handling; shifting works at a standstill as well as on the move, with no exposed derailleur. Oil-bath lubrication, servicing every 10,000 km, maximum input torque 250 Nm, 166 mm Q-factor. Compatible with chain or belt. Note: a bottom-bracket gearbox filed here for want of a dedicated type, this is not a geared hub.
