The electronic version (2023) of the Pinion gearbox: Smart.Shift equips the Ci-Line boxes and is operated by button through the ergonomic TE1 shifter. Twelve gears, a 600 % range, electronic shifting possible at a standstill and under load, with multiple gears changed in one action. On a non-assisted bike a dedicated battery in the down tube powers it (more than 20,000 shifts or around a hundred hours per charge); on an e-bike it draws from the bike's battery. Bluetooth Low Energy interface and dedicated app, maximum input torque 250 Nm. Note: an electronic bottom-bracket gearbox filed here for want of a dedicated type, this is not a geared hub.
