The 730 was Weinmanns long-running standard-reach single-pivot side-pull brake caliper, part of the range from the mid 1950s alongside the close-clearance 500, and produced through the late 1980s. Originally steel and later forged aluminium alloy, it was one of Weinmanns core products and extremely common original equipment on European road and touring bicycles. It is a cable-actuated rim brake covering roughly 53 to 71 mm of reach; the quick-release was built into the matching Weinmann brake lever rather than the caliper.
