Weinmann
Weinmann AG was founded in 1933 by Otto Weinmann in Schaffhausen, Switzerland. It became one of Europes largest-volume makers of bicycle brakes and rims, best known for its Vainqueur 999 centre-pull calipers and Carrera side-pull calipers, alongside lightweight aluminium rims. Weinmann brakes and rims were ubiquitous original equipment on European road and touring bikes from the 1950s through the 1980s. European production ended in 1991; the brand later continued under Belgian and then Dutch (Ryde B.V.) ownership.
