Carrera 600

Brand: Weinmann

The Carrera was Weinmanns top-of-the-range single-pivot side-pull brake caliper, introduced in the mid 1970s as a high-end forged aluminium-alloy design widely regarded as a Campagnolo copy. From around 1980-1981 it carried the model number Carrera 600. It is a standard-reach road caliper covering roughly 46 to 60 mm of reach, actuated by a conventional brake cable with a quick-release stirrup. Early examples used metal quick-releases and domed hex axle nuts, later replaced by plastic quick-releases and hollow nuts requiring a special wrench.
