Schwalbe

Schwalbe is a German bicycle tyre and inner tube brand belonging to the family firm Ralf Bohle GmbH, founded in 1922 and based at Reichshof-Wehnrath in North Rhine-Westphalia. The business began as a trader in bicycle parts and launched the Schwalbe brand in 1973; development, testing and administration remain in Reichshof, while tyres are produced in Asia through a joint venture with the Korean group Hung-A. Its best-known lines include the Marathon touring tyres with their puncture-protection belts, the Big Apple balloon tyre and the Nobby Nic mountain-bike tyre, alongside the Addix rubber compounds introduced in 2017.
